Dear Busy Bees and Friendly Frog Parents,


It is hard to believe that it is DECEMBER!  I know your family will be busy with holiday shopping and activities so here is a post to let you know about the school activities for December. 

Breakfast with Santa- Dec. 9


Our annual Breakfast with Santa is Saturday, December 10 at R-Place in Amelia (Swan Lane - Across from the former La Donna's Cafe). Ticket cost is $4/person and includes your picture with Santa! The first session (10a-11a) is full, however spots are still available for the 8:30a-9:30a session. If you wish to attend, please fill out your registration form and return it with payment to your child's teacher. Checks can be made payable to AEPTA. Due to lack of parking and space limitations in the building, absolutely no walk-ups will be permitted. Holiday Book Exchange-


Your child will be involved in a holiday book exchange with classmates.  I sent home a paper today with Scholastic news information for your family to order a book online for this event. I will also create a post about how to order online.  Each child will bring in a wrapped book and put it under the Christmas tree in the room.  During our holiday party we will play holiday musical chairs to give out the books.  Please limit your child's book purchase to less than $5.00. If your family needs support with this project please call or email. I have many ways to offer support! :)

No School

Dear Parents,


This will be a short week for our learning.  Please note that we don't have school on Tuesday and Friday.  Enjoy this extra time with your family.  

Out Of The Building

I will be out of the building tomorrow.  If you are sending in important papers to school please remind your child to tell the guest teacher.  As always please call or email me with any questions or concerns. Have a great weekend my Monday/Wednesday students. :)

Our Last Week Together :(

I can't believe it is our last week until summer vacation.  This week your child will be bringing home items from the classroom to keep.  Please have your child bring their book bag EVERY DAY!!




Important Dates:


Graduation: May 27th- AM- 9:30-10:30     PM 1:00:200
Your child will be released to you after graduation to allow your family to enjoy the day together.


Picnic: May 28th- Normal School Hours
Please have your child pack a lunch to enjoy outside. 


****We are also looking for volunteers to help with face painting.  If you have any face paint at home or wouldn't mind purchasing some for the event please let me know.

No More Homework or Bag of Books

I can't believe that we only have 14 days until graduation. Where has the year gone?


Since your child has worked so hard all year on reading and homework packets, I have decided to stop homework and nightly reading.  Your child will be bringing home their Bag of Books folder tomorrow with books for them to practice during the summer.  Your child DOES NOT need to return these books, they are a gift from the 1st grade and Title teachers.

I am attending a workshop to create a kindergarten math journal and will be out during your child's session.  Please tell your child that I will see them on Tuesday. :)

Field Trip Reminder.... Money and Permission Slip Due This Week.

The cost of the field trip is $8.00 per child. This includes admission to the Planetarium and the Lego Lab. Please send your child’s money to school on or before April 16th. It is extremely important to send the correct amount of money along with the signed permission slip in an envelope marked with your child’s name. PLEASE, SEND CASH ONLY! WE WILL RETURN CHECKS.

AM Parents:
Please remember to also send in the LOWE'S permission slip along with the Planetarium/Lego Lab permission slip.

We Have Reached 21000 visitors!

WOW!! Thank you so much for visiting my classroom blog. I NEVER thought it would be this successful. We will continue to learn and post our thinking from Room 206 frequently. Thanks again for making this 21st century technology tool such a success. :)

Don't Forget Your Bag of Jelly Beans!

Out of the Building Tomorrow

Wow, I had fun working on our classroom blog. Every day I find new items to add or create. I am so excited for your family to use the blog and see how great it is to be in Kindergarten.

On the side you will see the different pages in our blog. Your child's class (AM or PM), Links, Weekly Goals, Our Olympic Project, and the Amelia Elementary School Blog. Pages will be added and deleted based on our changing themes and projects.

I will post important dates, activities, and updates on the main page frequently, so make sure you keep coming back. :)
