Writing Response Partner Read

On Friday, we started a new classroom routine...Response Reads.  Each week your child will create a piece of writing in response to our main selection book from Reading Street and share their work with a friend.  Everyone did an amazing job listening and sharing their writing.

 

 

 

 

We Are Writers!

On Tuesday, we published our first piece of writing for our writing wall.  I was so impressed with all of my Clough Pike Authors! I loved how respectful everyone was while we took turns sharing our writing.

Groundhog Predictions

Today we made some Groundhog Day predictions.

I'm a little groundhog short and stout,

February second I will come out.

If I see my shadow they will shout,

"Six weeks more winter without doubt!"

Busy Bees Are Busy Workers!

It is music to my ears when I see my Busy Bees working together on their writing and sight words.  I am one happy teacher!!!!

Today we were excited to see the snow but sad we couldn't go out and play. To make us feel a little better, we had a snack of snowballs (marshmallows) and wrote about what we would do if today was a snow day.

Our Santa Letters (HH)

 On Friday, we wrote letters to Santa. 

We hope he will have time to write us back before we leave for Christmas break. :) 

Name Practice

Please continue to have your child practice their name.  You can make it fun by writing the letters on pieces of paper then have your child glue them together or on blocks that link together.

Winter Writing
