Graduation Information

KINDERGARTEN GRADUATION- SAVE THE DATE

Both Groups will start at 9:45 a.m.


Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe, but it is already time to start planning our Kindergarten Graduation. Save the date, and mark your calendars.


Group A students will graduate on Wednesday, June 6th, 2012, starting at 9:45 a.m. in the cafeteria.


Group B students will graduate on Tuesday, June 5th, 2012, starting at 9:45 a.m. in the cafeteria.


Students MUST come to school at their normal start time, so we can get them ready, and in line. Also, it is important they bring backpacks on graduation day so we can hand out report cards. We will have a picture slide show of our Kindergarten Year together, playing in the cafeteria, while you wait.


After Graduation refreshments will be served. Graduation day will be your child’s last day of Kindergarten. After graduation, students and parents will go to their classroom to collect their backpacks and report cards. All Graduation Hats need to be turned back in to the Kindergarten Teachers. You may keep the Tassel for a keepsake of your child’s graduation. Thank you Amelia PTO for buying them for our children.


Parents will need to sign out their child in the classroom, and then they may take them home to continue the celebration!

Field Trip Information- Group B

Group B -Kindergarten FIELD TRIP


Dear Group B Kindergarten Parents,


It is time to start preparing for the field trip! The Kindergarten classes will be going to the Drake Planetarium and Science Center (at Norwood High School) on Tuesday, May 1st , 2012. We will be visiting the Planetarium and the Lego Lab.


The Field Trip Buses will leave at approximately at 9:30 a.m. and return to school a little later than their usual lunchtime. Therefore, we are asking that you make sure your child eats a good breakfast before coming to school. Your child will need to bring a sack lunch and drink to eat when we return to school.


It is very important that your child arrive to school at their normal time. If your child is late, he/she may miss the field trip. We cannot hold the buses to wait for any students that are late.


The cost of the field trip will be $8.00 per child.. This includes admission to the Planetarium and the Lego Lab. Please send your child’s money to school, on or before, Friday, April 20th. It is extremely important to send the correct amount of money along with the signed permission slip in an envelope marked with your child’s name. PLEASE, SEND CASH ONLY. WE WILL RETURN CHECKS.


If you are a parent and would like to attend our field trip as a Parent Chaperone, you MUST be fingerprinted at the Main Office and the Fingerprints MUST come back approved BEFORE the Field Trip. (Please allow at least 2 weeks for this approval, so please schedule your fingerprinting as soon as possible). Cost of Main Office Approved Fingerprinted Chaperones is $8. Chaperones will also have to drive themselves to the Planetarium, and your child MUST ride the bus with the class.


You can call the Main Office at 513-5000 to set up your Finger Printing. Remember, you will NOT be able to attend if we do not have your Fingerprinting Results by April 30th.,


Please complete the attached form with your child’s money in a sealed baggie or envelope. It is IMPORTANT to have your child’s first and last name on the money envelope. Please send money and the signed Permission Slip together.

Dress Up Days!

Please encourage your child to dress up this week to cheer on their 3rd-5th grade friends for their big testing week. Our theme this year is Amelia Tigers Race to the Top!

Wednesday, April 18th: Amelia Spirit Day (wear Amelia spirit wear or white and blue!)
Thursday, April 19th: Hawaiian Kayak Race Day (wear Hawaiian or colorful shirts and leis!)
Friday, April 20th: Flying Pig marathon Day (wear your craziest socks, fastest gym shoes and sweat bands!

Report Cards

Your child's 3rd quarter report card came home today or yesterday.  Please review your child's progress and send back the report to school next week.  Thank you so much for all of your support at home. We had a great 3rd quarter!!!

Book Fair

Next week is the school book fair.  If you would like your child to buy a book, please send in their money by Monday/Tuesday.  Below are the days we will be visiting the book fair.
