Group B -Kindergarten FIELD TRIP


Dear Group B Kindergarten Parents,


It is time to start preparing for the field trip! The Kindergarten classes will be going to the Drake Planetarium and Science Center (at Norwood High School) on Tuesday, May 1st , 2012. We will be visiting the Planetarium and the Lego Lab.


The Field Trip Buses will leave at approximately at 9:30 a.m. and return to school a little later than their usual lunchtime. Therefore, we are asking that you make sure your child eats a good breakfast before coming to school. Your child will need to bring a sack lunch and drink to eat when we return to school.


It is very important that your child arrive to school at their normal time. If your child is late, he/she may miss the field trip. We cannot hold the buses to wait for any students that are late.


The cost of the field trip will be $8.00 per child.. This includes admission to the Planetarium and the Lego Lab. Please send your child’s money to school, on or before, Friday, April 20th. It is extremely important to send the correct amount of money along with the signed permission slip in an envelope marked with your child’s name. PLEASE, SEND CASH ONLY. WE WILL RETURN CHECKS.


If you are a parent and would like to attend our field trip as a Parent Chaperone, you MUST be fingerprinted at the Main Office and the Fingerprints MUST come back approved BEFORE the Field Trip. (Please allow at least 2 weeks for this approval, so please schedule your fingerprinting as soon as possible). Cost of Main Office Approved Fingerprinted Chaperones is $8. Chaperones will also have to drive themselves to the Planetarium, and your child MUST ride the bus with the class.


You can call the Main Office at 513-5000 to set up your Finger Printing. Remember, you will NOT be able to attend if we do not have your Fingerprinting Results by April 30th.,


Please complete the attached form with your child’s money in a sealed baggie or envelope. It is IMPORTANT to have your child’s first and last name on the money envelope. Please send money and the signed Permission Slip together.

_____ I want to be a chaperone on my child’s field trip. I understand I will need to be fingerprinted before April 13th to allow time for the fingerprints to be processed and returned to school. I am also aware that I must drive myself to the Drake Planetarium, and that my child must ride the school bus with his class. I am not allowed to have any other children with me on the field trip and must pay $8 to participate which will go for my admission to the Drake Planetarium and the Lego Lab.
