How To Order On Scholastic!

Online Ordering Information

Web address: scholastic.com/bookclubs
Class Activation Code:
GR3HT

Dear Parents,

Now it's easier than ever to find the perfect books for your child -- shop our NEW online Book Clubs Web site. Choose from a much-wider selection of books than in the printed flyer. Plus, you can send your orders directly to me online and use your credit card to pay.

Best of all, we earn a FREE book for the classroom library every time a parent places an order online.*

It's so simple! Here's how it works:
  • SIGN UP at www.scholastic.com/bookclubs. On the parent page, click the "Register" button in the "First Time Here?" section. Register for your own user name and password. When prompted, enter the one-time Class Activation Code shown above. This unique code ensures that your order is sent to me.
  • SELECT the books you'd like to order -- choose from thousands of titles -- many more than in our monthly flyers.
  • SEND your order to me online by the due date and your child's books will be delivered directly to my classroom.
Ordering online is fast, easy, and secure.

Of course, you can still order using the form from the printed flyer. But why not see for yourself how convenient it is to order online?

December Events

Dear Busy Bees and Friendly Frog Parents,

It is hard to believe that it is DECEMBER!  I know your family will be busy with holiday shopping and activities so here is a post to let you know about the school activities for December.

Breakfast with Santa- Dec. 9

Our annual Breakfast with Santa is Saturday, December 10 at R-Place in Amelia (Swan Lane - Across from the former La Donna's Cafe). Ticket cost is $4/person and includes your picture with Santa! The first session (10a-11a) is full, however spots are still available for the 8:30a-9:30a session. If you wish to attend, please fill out your registration form and return it with payment to your child's teacher. Checks can be made payable to AEPTA. Due to lack of parking and space limitations in the building, absolutely no walk-ups will be permitted. If you are in need of another registration form, please contact Beth Burcham at: bethandmike2004@yahoo.com

Holiday Book Exchange-

Your child will be involved in a holiday book exchange with classmates.  I sent home a paper today with Scholastic news information for your family to order a book online for this event. I will also create a post about how to order online.  Each child will bring in a wrapped book and put it under the Christmas tree in the room.  During our holiday party we will play holiday musical chairs to give out the books.  Please limit your child's book purchase to less than $5.00. If your family needs support with this project please call or email. I have many ways to offer support! :)

Holiday Parties-

The Friendly Frogs: December 22 from 1:30-2:30

The Busy Bees: December 23 from 1:30-2:30.

All family members are welcomed and encouraged to visit during our holiday party.  Please contact the following room mother if you would like to help with activities for the party.

Beginning Sound Game

We have been playing Snap in the classroom to work on beginning sounds.  Here is a copy for you to print and use at home.

Croc. Beginning Sound Game c,d,j,n
Directions:

Crocodile Snap*
Print and cut apart the crocodile cards and fish cards. ( Note: I have the fish on blue cards and the crocodile on green cards.) Turn all cards face down and have your child pick 1 blue and 1 green card.  If the letter and beginning sound of the picture picked matches, your child gets to call out "SNAP" and collects both cards.  The player with the most matches at the end wins.

Holiday Shop Days

Your child will be visiting the Holiday Shop in a few weeks.  There is a paper coming home in your child's Wednesday/Thursday folder with information about the gifts and prices.  As always, please send money in an envelope with your child's name on the front.

Short Week Thanksgiving Activities

Friendly Frogs and Busy Bees-

We will be taking a short break from Reading Street this week to focus on Thanksgiving celebrations.  We will continue to talk about what we are thankful for and investigate how people lived in the past and how they celebrated Thanksgiving.  We will also sequence a story about pumpkin pie and create Native American clothing.

The Friendly Frogs will be enjoying their Wheel of Wow movie on Tuesday afternoon. A special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Feldkamp who have volunteered to help with the popcorn for Tuesday afternoon.  I know the students will enjoy the "movie style" popcorn! :)

The Busy Bees will be enjoying their Wheel of Wow movie on Wednesday afternoon.

Reminder- Conference Tomorrow

Just a reminder for my Group B families that conferences are tomorrow from 5:00-8:30.

We Are A Picture Perfect Class! (with help from our friends at Home Depot! :)

Today the Friendly Frogs created a picture frame with their friends from Home Depot. Mr. Charlie, Miss Heather, and Miss Olivia were the best helpers and we are so happy they helped us create 3D objects.  The students LOVED using a hammer and screw driver.  I can't wait for Mr. Charlie and friends to come back again.

Thanks Mr. Charlie, Miss Heather, Miss Olivia, and Home Depot for a WONDERFUL day!!!!! :)
