All of the AE parents gave us a wonderful holiday party.  Thanks for all of your support.  The kids had a great time.

Santa Letters and Holiday Party (HH)

Our Santa Letters (HH)

 On Friday, we wrote letters to Santa. 

We hope he will have time to write us back before we leave for Christmas break. :)

Today was a very exciting day at AE.

Later in the day, Santa even called us on the phone.

AE Important For Next Week

Reading Street and Go Math!
This week in Reading Street we started Unit 3 which will focus on “How do changes affect us?” For week 1 we are working on the book, “Little Panda”, and were introduced to 3 new sight words: “she”, “with”, “me”. Please continue to work with your child on the following sight words: “he”, “for”, “we, my, like”, “have”, “is”, ”to”, “a”, “the”, “little”, “I”, and “am”.

In Go Math! we are still working on adding two groups together.

Report Card Assessment
2nd Quarter Report Card Testing: It is that time again. We will be testing each child for 2nd quarter report cards. They must know all 26 letters, sounds of the alphabet, writing the letter correctly, counting to 100 by 1’s, and counting up to 20 objects (toys, etc...). We only have 8 school days with each group before 2nd Quarter Report Cards are due.

We have begun testing all Kindergarten for the end of 2nd quarter skills. Assessments are 1 on 1 with each child and take up to 25 minutes each.

Holiday Party!
Parents we need your help to make our holiday party a success! I will be sending out an email and a blog post this week about how you can help. 
REMINDER: If you send in treats for the party, West Clermont Regulates they MUST be store bought with list of ingredients. This is a safety measure for ALL children.

Group B’s PJ and Holiday Party will be held on December 21st , Holiday party is from 1:30 p.m.- 2:30 p.m

We are having a book exchange for our Christmas party this year. Each child is to bring in a new book that is wrapped. Please do not let the value of the book go over $5. We will play a musical chair’s game with the books, and every child will leave with a new book to take home over the holiday. It is important to make sure the book is wrapped and has your child’s first and last name on the wrapping paper under the “From”. Please leave the “To” blank. All Books are due to be turned in no later than Tuesday, December 18th. If you are ordering a book from the Scholastic Book Fair Online orders, they must be in by December 7th, so that we can have them delivered before the Christmas exchange.


Marble Jar
Kindergarten has earned their marbles for good behavior!! To celebrate, we will have a pajama movie day. To help limit the time of instruction time lost, we will have the PJ party on the same day as our Christmas Party. Your child may wear their favorite PJ’s on the below dates. They are also allowed to bring in a small blanket and one small stuffed toy. We will be watching the movie, “The Polar Express” that morning.

Breakfast with Santa will be held at the Amelia High School Cafeteria on Saturday, December 15. There will be two sessions: 8:30-9:30 and 10-11am. Be sure to turn in your RSVP as space is limited. If you are in need of another RSVP form, please contact Beth Burcham at bethandmike2004@yahoo.com
